JULIAN SHIU, Founder & Studio Director

Julian oversees every aspect of the studio from business development to interior design to vendor liaison to construction administration. He serves as the main point of contact with the client and ensures that each project achieves the client’s brief by deftly managing time, budget, and spatial constraints.

Julian has been project lead for over 50 interior design and fitting-out projects since the inception of SAS PLANNERS. He received his formal training at Insight School of Interior Design and was a guest speaker on Construction Studies at Raffles School of Design. In his previous life he was a relationship manager in corporate banking.

JASON AU, Interior Designer & Project Manager

In charge of interior design and construction management, Jason has over 15 years of experience. Jason is an expert in construction detail, site management and the coordination of the related trades. He is a key contact for our FF&E vendors and brings a wealth of supplier knowledge and resources to the team.

Jason holds a diploma in Interior Design from Unisoft and received his professional training at ARCA FIRMA. His previous projects include numerous restaurants, hotels, high-end residences, and showrooms.

JADE POON, Interior Design Associate

Jade is the studio’s lead draftswoman and is our 3D modelling and rendering guru. Besides preparing construction documents and managing FF&E vendors, Jade is a key contributor to the studio’s interior design process as well as a budding construction project manager.

She holds a MS in Environmental Design from Artcenter College of Design and a BA in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley. Her previous firms include Paliburg Development Consultants and Andrew Lee King Fun & Associates Architects where she was involved in hotel and hospital architectural design respectively.

SUE LOR, Executive Assistant

Sue is engine that keeps the ship running. That is not to say she is a machine, but rather a fine sail setting a smooth and steady course for us. Naturally, Sue manages our treasury, accounting, and human resources having previously performed related functions at Zurich Life Insurance and Mothercare.
