Phase 6: construction administration
6.1. Review and comment on the Client’s vendors, consultants, and specialist contractors work, including:
6.1.1. Lead times, site works, and payment schedules;
6.1.2. Variation orders;
6.1.3. Review of technical documents submitted for review and approval such as shop drawings;
6.2. Visit the site at intervals appropriate to the stage of construction and report to the Client on the progress and status of the work. This project includes weekly site visits for a minimum of four hours (including travel time) for the duration of construction;
6.3. Endeavour to guard the Client against defects and deficiencies in the work and determine if the work is being performed in a manner consistent with the construction documents;
6.4. Not be required to make exhaustive or continuous onsite inspections, nor shall be required to have continuous representation onsite during construction;
6.5. If the Client appoints an alternative contractor, not be responsible for adherence to the contractor’s failure to adhere to the work in accordance with the contract documents nor be responsible for the construction means, methods, techniques, sequences of procedures, or safety precautions in connect with the work;
6.6. Have access to the site at all times whenever there is work in preparation or in progress;
6.7. Provide an estimate of the progress of the work to date for the Client’s evaluation of the requests for payment;
6.8. Have the authority to reject work that does not conform to the contract documents.
